How We Got Our Start
While Jason and Emily McCarthy, the founders of Goruck, were serving in the Special Forces and CIA, respectively, they started the company from Emily’s house in war-torn West Africa. Their goal was to create a rucksack with life-or-death quality standards that would thrive in Baghdad and NYC.

What Makes Our Products Unique
The Goruck Challenge was born in 2010. Today, we have over 1,000 events per year, with more than 175,000 participants and 200+ Special Forces Cadre. Our gear is battle-tested and designed for the toughest conditions.
